Adult First Aid
Adult Child CPR AED
This course equips students with the knowledge, confidence and ability to respond appropriately in breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults and children, as well as the first aid procedure for injuries, medical and environmental emergencies.
Students will complete an online learning component at their own pace, followed by an instructor led skills session consisting of hands-on practice and scenario based learning.

Course ObjectivesRecognize the main elements to the procedure for adult & child CPR AED. Recognize the elements of high-quality adult & child CPR and their importance on survival from cardiac arrest. Identify the links in the adult and pediatric chains of survival. Recognize when high-quality CPR is required. Describe how to perform high-quality adult and/or child CPR. Describe how to provide treatment for a choking adult and child. Correctly demonstrate Correctly demonstrate the following: ✔How to provide treatment for a choking adult and child. ✔Adult & child CPR procedures. ✔Removal of contaminated personal protective equipment. ✔How to provide effective rescue breaths using a CPR mask. ✔Performance of high-quality adult & child CPR. ✔How to use an AED on an adult & on a child.
