Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully through these terms and conditions - our priority is to keep your information safe, limit data collection and provide you with the best service possible.

 

Definitions

These terms and conditions are expressed for Act Allways Community Training as well as it’s owners and operators (henceforth referred to as  “we, our, ours, us, Act Allways Community Training, ACT, The Training Center”) for the client or individual or group for whom services are rendered (henceforth referred to as “you, your, yours, the client, the student, students, the participant, participants”). Registering for courses with us indicates agreement with the terms and conditions, or terms of use, expressed below. These terms and conditions may change without notice.

 

Service Promise

Act Allways Community Training strives to deliver high-quality, comprehensive training based on the most up-to-date research available. When applicable, we will attempt to create unique and specific scenarios that students may encounter in their workplace, home or community. Our priority is to inspire students’ confidence, and empower them to act methodically in high-pressure situations, long after they leave class.

 

Blended Course Policy and Overview

To ensure the continuity of your education the online component must be completed within 90 days of the initial booking [payment date]. Once the online component is completed, the Face-to-Face skills session MUST be attempted within 60 days.

 

Blended Course

Exam: For some courses, students may be required to complete a cognitive exam. Blended courses offer this exam through the online learning platform. Each exam has a minimum required passing score and this will be expressed to you prior to taking it.

 

Evaluations: Performance evaluations allow the student to showcase their skills in a scenario-based environment. Students are required to correctly demonstrate all necessary skills associated with the materials in the course they are taking in order to pass and become approved for digital or print certification.

 

Cancellation policy

Face-to-face skills class must be completed within 90 days of initial booking [payment]

 

Cancellation more than 22 days prior to Face-to-Face class - 100% refund

Cancellation more than 8 days prior to Face-to-Face class- 50% refund

Cancellation within 7 days prior to Face-to-Face class - No refund

 

Lateness policy

We recommend that students arrive to class 10 – 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Arriving late to class is disrupting to other students. Any student that arrives late will be admitted at the instructor’s discretion.  Students arriving more than 15 minutes late to class will be considered a No Show (see section “No Show Policy”)

 

No show policy

Participants who arrive more than 15 minutes late, or do not show up to class without contacting and receiving prior approval from ACT, will be considered a “No-Show”. No-shows will not receive a refund.

 

Re-scheduling policy

Rescheduling requests must be made in writing to info@actallways.com and are approved at the sole discretion of The Training Center. 

 

Sudden Illness or Personal Emergency Policy

In the event of sudden illness, acute injury that inhibits proper skills demonstration, or other qualifying extenuating circumstances, students are entitled to one complimentary rescheduling of the face-to-face class or in-person skills verification. Please contact ACT at your earliest convenience so that we can work together to schedule you within the required parameters set forth by the certifying organization.

 

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Personal Items Policy

Act Allways Community Training is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items or property when attending our course. Please leave valuables at home or in a safe location.

 

Stolen or Damaged Equipment

You are responsible for any costs associated with stolen or damaged equipment owned by ACT that cannot be attributed to normal wear and tear.

 

Personal Information & Privacy Policy

We value and respect you, therefore your personal information will be kept safe and we will never sell it to outside parties. We may provide information such as name, address, phone number, and email to HSI for the purpose of documenting your certification. We will collect as little information from you as possible in order to provide you with our services. We do not store credit card details - all payment methods other than cash-in-hand will be handled by our third-party vendors (Wise, Stripe, Other) and vendors are subject to change without notice. Refer to vendor-specific policies by navigating to their respective websites.

 

We may create, develop or produce media such as photographs or videos during your class for instructor training, advertisement and/or promotional purposes. We take our own online privacy very seriously and strive to extend this intention to each of our students - we will always attempt to keep your face and other obvious identifying information out of the frame. Concurrently, there may be instances that despite our best efforts, some identifying information appears in the above stated media. The participant hereby agrees that The Training Center can use this media in any form or format, at any time, for the above stated purposes. The participant may opt-out at any time and must inform us in writing via email to info@actallways.com. The participant agrees to allow a reasonable amount of time to make the necessary adjustments to consumer-facing media. However, we retain the right to use any and all media for internal instructor trainings, as well as contact information for future communication.

 

Risk of Injury & Injury Response Waiver

We employ staff members trained to respond in emergencies, but are not responsible for undisclosed medical information. By registering for this course, you release and hold harmless Act Allways Community Training, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant, while in or upon the premises or any premises under our control and supervision, or in route to or from any of said premises. In consideration of and through your involvement in any of our courses, at any location where services are offered, you acknowledge and agree that you risk bodily injury as well as loss or damage to property; you knowingly and freely assume all such risk; and you release, hold harmless and promise not to sue Act Allways Community Training, or any off-site training location, the instructors of the program, or the persons involved in the facilitation of this program, with respect to all such injury (except that which is resultant of gross negligence and/or willful or wanton misconduct.) You certify that to the best of your knowledge, you are in healthy physical condition and have no pre-existing condition that would impair your performance or result in you being injured during any program participation. In addition, you do hereby grant permission for duly authorized medical treatment by certified professionals to be administered to you in the event of injury and that all related costs are your responsibility.

 

Discrimination & Disabilities

We do not discriminate, and we evaluate all participants based on the performance criteria set forth by the certifying entity, therefore we provide reasonable accommodation to those in need. If you require accommodation (i.e. you have a knee injury and can’t kneel on the ground, but can perform chest compressions on a table) please communicate with The Training Center as soon as possible to make all the necessary arrangements.
